Vacationing In Benidorm Spain

Vacationing In Benidorm Spain

If you’re looking to for an amazingly relaxing and exciting time, then you have to enjoy your holidays in Benidorm Spain. The area is located quite snuggly in along the Costa Blanca, which is North of the Alicante Airport, where you’ll likely enter on your flight to the region. Benidorm is also located within driving distance of other attraction of the Costa Blanca in areas such as Javea, Denia, and the beautiful Calpe Spain. Of course the largest nearby city is Alicante itself, which is a large wonderful city that hosts everything that you’ll need to enjoy a great time. But right in Benidorm you’ll enjoy a great stay while enjoying majestic high rise buildings and hotels that will give you brilliant views of the surrounding beaches.

As well you can’t beat the year round near perfect temperature and climate of the area. It’s just a can’t go wrong vacation.

There is much to see in Benidorm as far attractions go and you’ll likely not find many places with a better nightlife. The city hosts more than 30 dance clubs, as well as hundreds of restaurants that can be found only steps from the sand of the beaches. Therefore, after a nice relaxing day in the sun, there’s no reason that you can’t eat, and dance the night away to your hearts content. Upon waking, depending on your hotels location you can step right onto the beach and start it all over again for the next day. I hardly think that you can get a much better vacation, what do you think?

If eating, dancing, and sleeping doesn’t fulfill your vacation the way you would like then perhaps you’ll want to enjoy a blend of various activities and enjoy some of the rich culture of Spain while you’re here.

The center of Benidorm, which is called the Casco Antiguo, has much history to experience with old buildings that run along San Vicente, San Lorenzo, and Santa Fez Streets.

If golf is more your virtue, you’ll be pleased with the golf courses that you’ll find throughout the Alicante region, which again is only a tiny distance from Benidorm. The Bonalba Golf Club which is in Mutxamel, the Bosque Golf and Country Club located in Chiva, and the Alicante Club in San Juan Beach are just a few of the many places to enjoy your game.

Another great thing about Benidorm is the great theme parks in the area. There are lots for the family to enjoy with the three biggest being Mundomar, Terra Mitica, and the water park Aqualandia.

Now usually a vacation means fun in the sun, and Benidorm has no shortage of that with the various beach along its coast. The temperatures in the region are controlled year round by mountains that control the wind flow into the area, making it perfect for beach weather both summer and winter.

You really can’t go wrong at either of the two main beaches in Benidorm, which are the Playa de Poniente and the Playa de Levante. You’ll find it very hard to leave.

The Kasbah Agafay Is Just The Most Marvellous Place To Chill Out For A Long Weekend.

The Kasbah Agafay Is Just The Most Marvellous Place To Chill Out For A Long Weekend.

The Kasbah Agafay is just the most marvellous place to chill out for a long weekend or even a week. It is situated between olive groves on one side, and the start of the desert on the other, with views of the Atlas mountains.

We stayed in a suite right up at the top under the ramparts, and the views over the mountains were to die for, as for the bathtub, well that was something else altogether!!.

I just loved the antique rugs, high ceilings and log fires, as it does get chilly at night, and what with the wonderfully high ceilings they were needed.

The concept of taking an old and crumbling Kasbah and turning it into top class hotel is a great concept, and the tiled courtyards, and sound of tinkling fountains never far away were evocative of a time gone by. At night with lanterns everywhere you really felt you had gone back in time.

We especially loved the total lack of television, radio, minibar or newspapers, and the real authentic Morocco atmosphere. The logs burning in the evening were another touch we loved, even in our room.

The service was excellent, totally unobtrusive, but you just needed to literally raise a finger and someone appeared as if by magic.

Liked the pool, and loved the hamman, but one of the best features of theKasbah Agafay was the idea that you can be taken to Marrakech by private car for the day, and visit your ‘club’ which is the Kssour Agafay, a boutique hotel in a 15th century town house right in the medina.

It was great, we went shopping, left our bags, returning later for lunch, leaving more bags, and then we went back to the peace and tranquillity of the hills, and the wonderful Kasbah Agafay.

I left with my batteries fully recharged.

Sasha Biography

Sasha Biography

Sasha was born Alexander Coe in Wales in September 1969.

He first became aware of the house music scene in the late 1980s during visits to the legendary Hacienda club in Manchester. He became hooked immediately – “The smoke machine, the strobe lights, everyone trance dancing, wearing bandanas and smiley T-shirts,” he recalls. “It definitely had a fuck-you attitude compared to the rest of pop music.”

He moved to Manchester to become more involved in the scene just as house music exploded into the nations consciousness, and began to DJ in a local club under the name of Sasha.

His first big break came when he was offered a residency at Shelly’s in Stoke in 1991, and his unique style of playing acapellas over instrumental Italian piano house tracks won him many fans and plaudits. Later that year, he became the first DJ to feature on the cover of Mixmag.

His first production was under the name BM:Ex – “Appolonia” on VC Recordings, an epic track with several remixes that would begin to define the Sasha style – long, fluid, hypnotic tracks, with gated vocals and synths swirling in and out of the mix. His Qatmix also came with a healthy dose of piano to keep the italo-house heads happy.

Sasha was invited to take a residency at Renaissance in 1993 where he went on to meet John Digweed. The pair produced the first ever DJ mix CD – “Renaissance – The Mix Collection”, a 3 CD epic that contained many of the big tracks they were spinning at the time as well as some of their own productions and remixes.

The pair went on to create the Northern Exposure brand – a club night that they would go on to take on several tours around the country, and also a set of mix CDs that were made using production software rather than decks – a trend that caught on quickly.

In 1994 Sasha released two singles on Deconstruction Records – ”Magic” and ”High Ground”. These tracks showcased his progressive house sound – long intros and outros, pianos, 303s, and emotional vocals.

Sasha formed a friendship with producer BT in 1995 that led to him remixing BT’s seminal ”Embracing The Sunshine” and the two co-producing the B-Side of Sasha’s biggest hit to date – the epic ”Be As One”.

In the same year they also worked together on perhaps one of the greatest remixes ever– the majestic Atraxion Future Mix of Seal’s ”I’m Alive”. This mix contains everything in its 13 or so minutes – massive builds, huge drops, pianos, guitars and a singalong chorus. It’s a big favourite here at Second Hand Vinyl.

Sasha’s production work took a less commercial slant between 1996 and 1998, until in 1999 he release the four-track ”Xpander EP”, the title track of which contained hugely uplifting and melodic synth parts that brought him a whole new set of fans.

In 2000 he teamed up with Underworld supremo Darren Emerson to record ”Scorchio”, another uplifting synth track that charted in the UK.

Sasha is still producing and DJing today, and is still as popular as ever.

Fabulous Fun for the Little Ones in NYC

Fabulous Fun for the Little Ones in NYC

If you’re looking for great off the wall fun things to do with your children while visiting New York, there are a great many ways to enjoy your visit that you won’t read about in most guidebooks. These are things that are a little off the beaten path but a great deal of fun for you and your child.

Baby Loves Disco is offered in Cielo and Southpaw once a month at each club allows a chance for parents and kids to enjoy a ‘night on the town’ of disco dancing, bubble making, juice boxing, and having a great time dancing the night away. You’ll need to check with the clubs to find out when they are offered and plan to get there early as the popularity of this event is growing and there is generally a long line waiting to get in. Moms and dads love this almost as much as babies and it’s a new enough concept that it is not something you’ll see in just any large city. It is still a fairly new idea that is beginning to grow around the country.

Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz is a fun jazz show that gets the entire family involved and participating in the making of the music that is played. It is important to remember that jazz music isn’t as structured as other forms of music and this makes it much more enjoyable and fun for the kids who participate and you get to watch your little darlings develop a deep appreciation for this wonderful music genre. The tickets for this are at The Bowery Poetry Club. Whether you are hoping to cultivate a serious love of jazz music in your children or simply want to encourage them to explore music and the world around them, this is a great way to spend a part of your New York Vacation with your children.

In addition to these great activities that are a little off the beaten path there are many opportunities for your children to explore the arts by watching the wonderful musicals that are available on Broadway or in the many children’s theatres around town as well as through programs that offer performances throughout the year at the many city parks in New York. It is never too early to teach your children to love and respect the arts, as these will be lessons that will last their entire lifetimes.

It is also a wonderful idea anytime you can get your children involved in activities that get them up and moving around. If the weather outside doesn’t invite playtime it might be a good idea to check out the many indoor play areas that New York has to offer just to give them an outlet for their energy and get some much needed exercise that disguises itself as play.

The many parks that can be found in New York City make this a great place to visit for many reasons. One of those reasons, very simply, is the abundance of free entertainment that is available. The parks offer infinite opportunities during nice weather for children to get out, socialize, and exercise. This is something that many other cities around the U.S. would do well to take to heart. Find the activities and events that your child will enjoy most and seize the opportunity to enjoy those moments together.

Rage Against The Machine Tickets – The Angry Legends Return To The Stage

Rage Against The Machine Tickets – The Angry Legends Return To The Stage

Rage Against the Machine tickets were some of the most sough-after on the music market in the 1990’s. The band’s eclectic mix of hard rock, funk and hip hop sounds took the world by storm, and their incendiary social beliefs have always been an integral part of the message they attempt to deliver. The band has been out of the spotlight for the past few years, but far from forgotten. However, Rage Against the Machine is set to return to the stage soon, and below we’ll take a look at why this announcement has created such an unbelievable level of excitement.

Early Beginnings

The band came together quickly in Southern California in 1991. Guitarist Tom Morello had left his former band, Lock Up, and as he was deciding on the direction of his career, he went to a club one night in Los Angeles. It was at this club where he heard Zack de la Rocha rap, and he decided that the two of them could form the foundation for a powerful group. The two got together and recruited the other two original members of the band, Brad Wilk as the drummer and bassist Tim Commerford.

The group’s first performance was humble in nature, but that status didn’t last long. Their first gig was at a house party in Orange County, and their innovative sound was an immediate hit with local fans. The band gave itself its current name and began to play the club scene in Los Angeles and Orange County, and Rage Against the Machine tickets became an immediate draw.

Commercial Success

The band’s growing reputation and following led many record labels to pursue them, and they ultimately decided on Epic Records because the company gave the band complete creative control. This control was a major issue, as the band’s lyrics often contained searing social commentary and lyrics that were extremely controversial.

The band’s first full album release, which was self-titled and put out in 1992, went triple platinum, and instantly installed the band as a household name with music fans everywhere. They continued their roll with each of their three subsequent releases, as all of them sold in huge numbers.

Their work was also noticed by industry experts, as Rage Against the Machine won two Grammy Awards and was nominated for several others. However, they were never really about commercial sales, but rather put their priority on live performances, which remain legendary in nature for their pure energy and anger towards authority in general.

Breakup and Reunion

In the year 2000, de la Rocha left the band because he did not agree with the overall decision-making of the band as a whole. This split persisted until early in 2007, when the band announced that it would be making an appearance at the Coachella Music Festival in Southern California. This announcement has created a frenzy of excitement, and Rage Against the Machine tickets are sure to be one of the biggest draws at this enormous musical celebration.

Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday was one of the most famous jazz music singers in America. Her real name was Eleanora Fagan. Like most lives of musicians, she had a very bad time growing up which damaged her career. Her life is written about in the autobiography Lady Sings The Blues, but there are many things in there that are not really valid. Her stage name is from an actress, Billie Dove and her father Clarence Holiday.

Billie grew up in the poorest area of Baltimore. Her parents married when she was three years old, but it did not last. They divorced and she was raised by her mother and various relatives. She had been raped when she was eleven years old, and skipped school a lot, so she was placed in The House of the Good Shepherd in 1925. The House of the Good Shepherd was a reform school for Catholics. A friend of the family helped her out of there a couple of years later. She then went to New York to live with her mother. A year later, her mother discovered a neighbor was raping Billie, the man spent three months in jail.

Things seemed to go from bad to worse. Billie had said a brothel claimed her where she worked as a prostitute , and then was in prison for awhile. She started singing for tips in the Harlem night clubs in the 1930’s. It was said when she had not a dime to her name and was about to be evicted, she sang “Trave’lin All Alone” at a club and had the audience crying. She kept singing for tips until she ended up at a popular jazz club called Pod’s and Jerry’s in Harlem. A lot of her performing cannot be discovered, but it is said she was working at Monette’s, another club in 1933 when John Hammond, a talent scout found her.

John got her to record with Benny Goodman that same year. She sang in a group with Teddy Wilson, a pianist. Their debut was the song “Miss Brown You”, and “What A Little Moonlight Can Do”, which made her a famous jazz singer. The year following that, she began recording under her own stage name. Some of the musicians who she performed with her the best, such as Lester young, a tenor sax player. Lester was a boarder in her mother’s house, so they were good friends. He was the one who gave her the nickname Lady Day. She gave him the nickname Prez. She also performed with Artie Shaw and Count Basie.

When Billie was on the Columbia label, someone gave her the song “Strange Fruit” about lynching. She sang the song at a club in 1939, afraid of some kind of retaliation. Later on, Billie said that it was similar to the death of her father, and that is part of the reason why she performed it. She was upset that a lot of people didn’t understand the song. She said,” They’ll ask me to sing that sexy song about the people swinging.” Columbia didn’t record it, but Commodore Records did. She sang that song for twenty years.

She began doing drugs in the 1940’s, married Jimmy Monroe, a trombonist in 1941. At the same time, she was with her drug dealer Joe Guy living with him common law. She divorced her husband in 1947, and departed from her drug dealer, but spent eight months in a correctional facility for women. Because her Cabaret Card was taken, she couldn’t perform in clubs in New York City for the last twelve years of her life, except once at the Ebony Club with permission.

She continued on with substance abuse, and getting into the worst relationships with men.
She died in 1959 from cirrhosis of the liver. She was just 44 years old. All she had was seventy cents in the bank, and a 0 tabloid fee. A movie Lady Sings The Blues was done about her life starring Diana Ross. It wasn’t the real story but it gave Diana a Best Actress nomination. Billie has been an inspiration for many people and is still one of the best jazz music vocalists today.

Kayaking Florida Tours & Destinations

Kayaking Florida Tours & Destinations

Whether you’re looking for a challenge and a chance to test your kayaking skills or just looking to see Florida from another point of view, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Participating in a reputable kayak tour is a good way to see what Florida has to offer.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Florida is a popular destination for many organized kayak tours. A Day Away Outfitters offer several tours based in the refuge.

Manatee Encounter: kayaking with this beloved Florida resident and endangered species can be a fun and enlightening experience. The tour lasts two hours and manatee sightings are guaranteed from April to October. Difficulty rating is easy.
Birding Tour: This 90 minute kayaking tour gives paddlers the chance to see some of Florida’s migratory and native birds. Spoonbills, herons, egrets and more call the refuge home. Difficulty rating is easy.

Black Night/Cold Light Bioluminescent Night Tour: This isn’t a refuge tour but it is highly recommended. In the summer, the waters of the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon light up thanks to bioluminescence. Every movement produces light. Manatees glow, sting rays look like something out of something out of science fiction movies and fast moving little fish look like glow-in-the-dark rockets. The tour lasts 2 1/2 hours. Bioluminescence is guaranteed June through September. Difficulty rating is easy. Kayakers can truly see Florida in a whole new light.

Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail

This popular sea kayaking destination in Florida is one of the longest and wildest publicly owned wetlands in the United States. The 105 mile trail features a big variety of marine and bird life. White pelicans, egrets, bald eagles and ospreys inhabit the area. In the water, kayakers are likely to see crabs, fish, sea turtles, manatee, cannonball jelly fish, small sharks and rays.

Six designated campsites are spread out over the trail. Camping permits are required and guide books are available. The trail is open from September 1 to June 30th.

Blue Cypress Lake

Club kayak details several available Florida kayak routes and tours. Blue Cypress Lake is one of them. Freshwater kayaking at Florida’s Blue Cypress Lake requires moderate kayaking skills. Round trip from Middleton’s Fish Camp to Moonshine Bay is 7 miles.

The lake contains largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and blue gill in addition to other fish species. Cypress trees, often filled with osprey, surround the launch area. Available side trips include exploring the cypress swamp, complete with subtropical ferns, mosquitoes and alligators.

Weeki Wachee River

Also detailed by Club kayak is Weeki Wachee, a Florida spring discharging over 64 million gallons of water daily. Kayaking this Florida waterway, paddlers are likely to see manatee, alligators, raccoons, otters and a variety of birds. Often-sighted birds include ducks, ibis, pelicans, herons, osprey, wood storks and cormorants. Eight miles along, the Weeki Wachee meets the Gulf of Mexico.

Difficulty rating is beginner to advanced and distance ranges from 4 to 16 miles.
Kayaking options in Florida range from freshwater to saltwater and from calm water to rushing water. Kayaking tours are an excellent way to try out new waterways. State parks and kayaking trails are another option.

Days & Nights of Cabo San Lucas

Days & Nights of Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas, often just called “Cabo,” is a smolderingly desirable vacation destination for extreme adventure seekers of both daytime and nighttime fun. Cabo is one of the most mentioned hotspots by characters on the hit TV show The O.C. What more needs be said?

Pinpointing the timeframe for the advent of nightlife is much simpler than selecting the finest beach of Cabo San Lucas for daytime adventures. There are eight picturesque, sandy-white beaches that are perfect for sightseeing and many water-related activities. For romantics, the Twin Dolphin Beach is perfect for couples seeking an intimate secluded hideaway. Even when more crowded than usual, the beach’s rock formations and coves offer surprisingly sufficient privacy to guests. Although topless and nude sun bathing are prohibited in Mexico, such behavior occurs frequently around Cabo. It occurs frequently at the Twin Dolphin and Playa San Pedro beaches.

The mighty Cabo Wabo Cantina is a music venue, a restaurant, and a nightclub. Haggar’s former band, Van Halen, was the first act to perform on stage. Other VH members were originally co-owners of the Wabo with Sammy. The cantina’s pioneering efforts have transformed Cabo San Lucas in to a 21st century Mecca of decadence of worldly proportions. The club has been featured on E Channel, Travel Channel, VH1, and MTV. New bands and acts appear weekly. As the Wabo’s slogan goes, “Go there once, you’ll be there twice!”

The Zoo Bar & Dance has appeal for all party animals regardless of specie. Hunters on the prowl for award-winning game will find the surroundings quite invigorating. The decorum is definitely African with tiger-spotted seat covers and wild animals throughout the joint. The club’s music runs the gamut from pop to dance, but all music played is danceable. Management baits big end-game hunters to show up Thursday evenings for Ladies’ Night. The cover charge for gentlemen is .

Westin Beach, which is part of Playa Buenos Aires, is located near the Jack Nicklaus-designed Eldorado Golf Club and the Condé Nast Traveler-recommended Westin Regina Resort. The Eldorado golf course features six oceanfront holes. With the rise of new resorts and influx of vacationers coming to Cabo, Westin Beach is now a good setting for family outings. However, do keep in mind that there are swift sea currents and powerful waves. The beach is ideal for lounging but not recommended for swimming.

Directly across from the Hard Rock Café is El Squid Roe. While it is called both a nightclub and a restaurant, the notoriety of Squid Roe stems from its rep as a raucous house of partying. Directions are not necessary. Just follow your ears! Waiters come equipped with strapped on spray tanks of tequila. Pretty much anything goes. There is no official dress code.

The Hard Rock Café is a club of two tales. Families and children are welcomed during the day. However, after 10:30 p.m., the minors are out and the adult swim begins. Hurricane, Earthquake, Howling Wolf, and Lovely Rita are just a few of the drinks served from the bar. Located in the Plaza Bonita Mall, the HRC has been a pillar of the community since opening its fabled doors in 1995.

Cabo is an area that definitely will be revisited, as there are too many pleasurable sources for entertainment and recreation to cover in just one article.

Stance and swing 6 tips for better golf

Stance and swing 6 tips for better golf

The perfect stroke is that elusive thing we all strive for, asleep in our beds at night with a smile on our faces as we dream of that drive going straight and true down the middle of the fairway or that putt dropping in to the cup at the end of its smooth 50 yard run.

Unfortunately reality bites when we get to the tee and make our shot, those niggling worries start in the back of out minds, are my feet too far apart, is my eye on the ball, is my chin too far in is my back swing too shallow, this indecision and doubt might be throwing you off your game, so take a little time and read through these tips to improving your swing and stance, if you do not learn anything at least you now know you were doing the right things all along and that doubt can be lifted and replaced by the dream stroke you always had inside of you.

1. Is your stance too narrow? A narrow stance can cause balance problems for a golfer, it also causes an unstable base and this can lead to more balance problems and so the vicious cycle continues. To solve the problem of poor balance you should take a slightly wider stance should be used, your toes should be slightly splayed out. The lead foot should be splayed out around 30 degrees, make these adjustments and you break the cycle, your base is stabilised and your balance restored.

2. When the club addresses the ball are your hands too close to your body?
This can limit the arc of the club and can cause it to be too narrow, to improve your arc you should reach a little more this produces a wider arc and improves distance.

3. Avoid swaying during the back swing, if you have a tendency to sway backwards this can seriously impair your swing, this is because you are not turning about your pivot point and the weight becomes too much for your rear leg, you should feel free to move your weight to your rear leg but only to the inside, you should concentrate more on turning than swaying to solve this problem.

4. One thing that will loose you power when you are playing golf is keeping your club too close to your body on take away, the way to correct this problem and get that power back is to extend your arms away from your body, like you were going to hand your club to somebody on your right had side, you must maintain your balance throughout.

5. To get a wider arc and more power you need to ensure that your right
elbow stays out from your body, too many golfers keep the elbow too close into their body and this causes a loss of power and severely limits your game.

6. Concentrate on not moving your weight on to your front foot during the back swing, this can cause a reverse pivot, that will lead to a loss of power, you must ensure that you move your weight to your back leg but not so much that you risk a loss of balance.

The Real Sangria Of Spain

The Real Sangria Of Spain

If you go to Spain, you have to try a traditional Sangria. When in Rome, they say, so as the Romans do, and this popular and traditional drink is available at just about every bar and restaurant. Each place may have their own variation of the recipe, so it is fun to try it at different locations and compare. Sometimes the recipe is changed to go with the type of food that is being served.

Sangria is considered a summer drink, and you will find it served primarily during the summer when you are in the northern part of Spain, but in the south, where it is endless summer, you will find it served all year long. The mild temperatures of the fall, winter and spring encourage drinking this refreshing, fruity drink. The string of the sangria you will encounter will vary from place to place. Bars will most likely serve a stronger concoction than will a dance club.

Sangria itself originated in Spain. The word is the Spanish word for bleeding, and so it gets its name from the color of the red wine that is used in making traditional sangria. There are variations today that use white wine instead, but they are called sangria blanca.

The basic sangria recipe is red wine, juice, club soda and fruit. A young red wine is the best one to use, and the ingredients should all be of good quality, so choose a good wine and fresh juices and fruit.

The sangria you will be served in a restaurant or bar is traditionally served in a one liter pitcher. The pitcher has a strainer on the lid so the fruit and ice can be filtered out when the drink is poured. Sangria is available by the glass serving, but by the pitcher is the more usual way it is served. However, at a large party, you will find sangria served in a large punch bowl, with the fruit floating on top in a lovely manner. How to make your own sangria: Pour together the following: one bottle of red wine, two cups of orange juice, one half cup of triple sec or brandy, and sliced oranges. Let stand for a while, then stir in ice and two cups of club soda.

You can change the fruit or the wine in a sangria recipe, and if you prefer to have a wine drink that goes better with light foods, you may prefer sangria blanca. Another variation is to use sparking white wine.

You have to let the flavor of the fruits blend in with the other ingredients, so this drink should be made a few hours ahead of time, or even the night before. When you are ready to serve, add the club soda and ice. Of course, you can adjust the ingredients to suit your own taste, such as using lemons in addition to oranges, or substituting pineapple. If you try different combinations of fruit, juice and perhaps flavored sodas, you will come up with an interesting group of recipes you can serve for different occasions.

Golfing Tips That Anyone Can Try Out

Golfing Tips That Anyone Can Try Out

Golf can be a fun and exciting sport, although it may be quite difficult for some. The key to golfing is focusing on your technique and staying relaxed. This article will show you several tips and tricks on how to move your golf game up a notch and keep the game fun and interesting for you.

Here is a golf tip! Scooping the ball is caused by hitting up on the ball instead of down on the ball. This causes the club to pass the hands before actually hitting the ball, resulting either way in a bad shot. Focus on hitting down on the ball, keep your body level, and let your swing take over.

If you are just off the green but the grass is too long to attempt a putt, try using a 7 or 8 iron to do a simple chip to the hole. Using the same technique you would use for a putt, a smooth stroke with a 7 or 8 iron will lift your ball just past the edge of the rough and fringe and then allow it to roll smoothly on the green toward the hole.

If you are concerned that your ball may be lost or out of play, do not walk over to the area where you hope to find it without an extra ball in your pocket. If you end up not finding your ball and you don’t have a replacement then you have to walk all the way back to your cart, slowing down the round for your partners and those behind you.

Understanding that quality is more important than quantity when playing golf is essential. It is not how hard you hit the ball; but rather where the ball is hit on the club that is important. Try to establish proper mechanics if you desire to improve your game.

The back swing of a golf swing is just as important as the front swing- it must be gradual and controlled. Amateurs will tend to bring the club back quickly and jerkily with the wrists, which compromises the whole swing. Bring it back in a controlled fashion with the arms to start your swing off right.

Practice your golf swing in the off-season. When the weather turns cold and the clubs get put away for the winter, it is easy to forget about your game until spring, when you find your swing weak and out-of-practice. To combat this, get a weighted club and make sure to take at least 20 swings every night. It is a very small time commitment, and will pay off big time when the season starts up again.

Lastly, you should always remember to focus while you are playing. As mentioned in the beginning of this article, golf requires focus and concentration on your technique. Staying relaxed is another key component that will make the game easier for you. By following the tips listed in this article, you can improve your golf game and compete at the next level.

Tips to Help Your Dog Sleep Through the Night

Tips to Help Your Dog Sleep Through the Night

Barking. Whining. Destructing furniture. Your hyperactive pooch’s lack of sleepiness may be the cause of your restless nights.

Though most dogs sleep from 10 to 14 hours a day, some tend to be off schedule with your sleep time due to lack of routine, hyperactivity or anxiety.

Pluto Pet, maker of natural supplements for pets, offers the following tips to help your dog – and you – have a restful night.

* Make sure your dog gets well-balanced meals. The first step to healthy sleep is a healthy diet. According to the American Kennel Club, puppies need more calories and essential nutrients than adult dogs. For this reason, you should choose foods specially formulated for puppies. Adult dogs should be fed according to their size and energy needs.

* Give your pet a relaxing supplement. To quickly and effectively calm your canine down, some veterinarians suggest giving your dog a calming product, such as Pluto Pet’s Pet Calming Spray. After two to four squirts in your pet’s mouth, Pet Calming Spray relieves restlessness, fear, nervousness and aggression, helping antsy pets sleep throughout the night. The spray meets all Food and Drug Administration guidelines for good manufacturing practices and causes no negative side effects.

* Provide your canine with an exercise routine. Help your pooch get rid of pent-up energy. Walk your dog at least twice a day and make sure you set aside time to play every day. Just like with humans, exercise helps dogs stay healthy.

* Set a bedtime. Put your dog to bed at a designated time every night. This will help your canine companion conform to your sleeping schedule. Make sure you give your pet the opportunity to go to the bathroom right before bedtime.

* Create a comfortable sleeping area. Provide your dog with a blanket, towel or pillow to sleep on. Whether your pet sleeps indoors or outdoors, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says that enclosed areas, such as dog crates or dog houses, give many pets a sense of security and a sleeping spot to call their own.

Seattle Laughter is Good Medicine

Seattle Laughter is Good Medicine

It is said that laughter really is the best medicine. If that is the case then Seattle should be a pretty healthy city. There is plenty of laughter to be had in this great city and even more to be shared with those who choose to visit. If you are planning a trip to Seattle Washington, be sure to check out the many comedy clubs that can be found throughout the city.

There are at least three of these comedy clubs that stand out and make a lasting impression. The first one is Comedy Underground. With locations in both Seattle and Tacoma you can pretty much take your pick between whichever one has the comedian you are most interested in seeing perform. The clubs actually have a fairly impressive menu and you are allowed to eat during the show. Just make sure that your food doesn’t smell too good or the comedian might heckle you. The really good news is that Comedy Underground is open 7 nights a week with several open mic nights when you can see local talent. Those are often the most interesting to watch. Tickets can be purchased for reasonable prices; especially during open mic nights and the performances are a lot of fun to watch. This is a great way to spend an evening and bring a date.

Giggles Comedy Night Club is the next one on my list. This club is only open Thursday through Sunday nights and has a one-drink minimum when there is a headliner and a two-drink minimum on open mic nights. Giggles features acts that you may have seen around a bit rather than only offering local talent. The comedy is good and the drinks are better. This is a great place to go and bring a group of friends along. The more the merrier when it comes to comedy, laughter, and liquor. Just remember to appoint a designated driver or have other plans for your ride home.

Now we get to the Jet City Improv. The Jet City Improv has grown and expanded over time and is now one of the most popular theatre experiences in the Seattle area. One of the great things about these shows is that they are suitable for all ages. So this is a more family friendly environment than most other comedy clubs in the area. The entire show is improvised nightly based on audience participation and suggestions. This is one of the most hilarious theatre experiences you can possibly imagine. And the more you can imagine the funnier it will get. I seriously recommend that you bring some Advil or some other sort of pain medicine along with you, as your sides will hurt before the night is over.

Whether you are a serious fan of comedy or someone who is only interested because it is a liver performance, I think you will be surprised by how much fun you have at any one of these three locations. My personal favorite is the improv but this is solely based on the audience participation factor and the fact that you pretty much know what to expect when going in. You never know what you are going to get when you hit an open mic night at some comedy clubs-sometimes the show is wonderful and sometimes the show is not so wonderful. The important thing is that you laugh often and you laugh well.

Aspen Nightlife

Aspen Nightlife

Finding things to do in Aspen, Colorado during the
day isn’t difficult – get out on the slopes and ski or
enjoy one of the other winter sports that you love.
At night, however, Aspen really comes to life with
Aspen nightlife! No matter how old or young you are,
there is something to do in Aspen twenty-four hours
a day, seven days a week.

Music and dancing are the biggest Aspen nightlife
attractions, but there is more to do than just that –
so if you aren’t quite old enough to get into the
various bars and clubs in the area, don’t think that
you will be bored at night – you won’t be! Start by
finding out what activities are planned for the
evening at your lodge or hotel. Most lodges and
hotels have events planned throughout the season
– and this is a good place to start finding things to
do after the slopes have closed for the day.

Shopping in Aspen is another highlight. There are
many galleries and specialty shops that you won’t
find in your own hometown. Take advantage of this.
Most shops are open after the slopes have closed
for the day, and many stay open late because they
understand that you want to spend your daylight
hours out on the slopes.

If you aren’t old enough for the club scene, take
advantage of the teen nights that are offered by many
of the resorts. These are safe fun nights for teens,
which parents will approve of. Teens also enjoy the
offerings at many of the spas. Spas aren’t just for
adults. Enjoy the skin treatments, massages,
saunas, and hot tubs. Some resorts also have game
rooms for the teens and younger kids.

If you are old enough for the bars and clubs – finding
something to do won’t be hard at all. Again, find out
what is happening in the evening at your lodge or
hotel first. If you aren’t interested, hit the streets.
Almost everything is within walking distance in Aspen,
and anything that is out of walking distance is
accessible by bus or taxi. If you will be drinking,
do not drive your car to the bar or club – find
alternate transportation.

The Aspen Recreation center has many planned
events throughout the season that are appropriate for
adults and kids. However, if you are planning to bring
the kids, but you want to enjoy some adult Aspen
nightlife as well, child care may be available through
your lodge or hotel.

Great Advice For Getting Your Golf Game Just Right

Great Advice For Getting Your Golf Game Just Right

Golf just might be one of the world’s ideal sports. You can familiarize yourself with the basics in just a few lessons, yet mastering the sport can occupy all the rest of your days. If you have been bitten by the golf bug, you are likely eager to learn how to refine your playing skills.

Make sure that as you hit the golf ball, the face of the club is square to the ball. This helps the ball travel in a straight line. If your club is not squared up with the golf ball, the ball will launch off in a different direction than you originally intended. Experiment with how you hold the club until you have mastered hitting the ball at a 90 degree angle.

If you have trouble slicing the ball off the tee, avoid the common mistake of compensating for this by aiming to the left. By aiming further left of your target, you actually put yourself in position to hit an even larger slice, as your club head is more likely to swipe across the ball instead of hitting it squarely.

Use a couple extra clubs when practicing at the range, on the practice green, or even in a training bunker to ensure a proper alignment and stance in your shots. By placing one club near your feet and one just on the other side of your ball, you can either establish the correct line in advance or go back and check your feet after a swing to see if you had the proper setup.

Allow your mind to lead you in your play. If you are in need of a birdie on the next hole then plan to get an eagle. By setting your mind to this challenge you can improve your swing as your mind is attempting to see the increased goal and expectation. Allow these synaptic responses to work to your advantage.

Be sure that you have the proper footwear for playing a game of golf. You want to have shoes that have grips on the bottom so that your feet are planted in place. By wearing regular shoes, you could trip and fall or move a certain way that causes the ball to go off its intended course.

To teach your child golf, don’t be too technical. Your little one is not going to understand a lot of golf jargon, and s/he won’t really care about form; however, hitting the ball into the hole is bound to be very motivating. Start out with miniature golf and add a few trips to the putting range to teach your child to love golf.

Because of the fascinating way golf takes hold of its enthusiasts, it has real staying power. Your career as a golfer will span years and even decades when you fall in love with the game. Best of all, by continuing to examine good golf advice, you can make that whole long career one of constant improvement.

Nightclub For Baby Boomes Raided; Patrons Nabbed For Dropping Antacid

Nightclub For Baby Boomes Raided; Patrons Nabbed For Dropping Antacid

A trendy new nightclub that caters to baby boomers who find themselves unexpectedly single was raided by police last night. Acting on a tip from a twenty-something couple who entered the hotspot by accident, police were able to determine that many of the partying patrons were dropping antacid.

The owner, who was taken away in cuffs, claimed, “I had no idea some of the customers were dropping that stuff. But somehow they were smuggling it past the bouncers – Alka-Seltzer, Tums, Rolaids, you name it. Had I known, I would have slipped them some complimentary club soda.”

A female boomer noted, as she was being booked, “I admit it. I’ve become addicted to Alka-Seltzer How would you like to be in your fifties and be back out on the meat market? I just hope my children understand.”

A male patron, who was apprehended while attempting to escape as fast as he could amble down the street, lamented, “I’m single, I’m upset, so no wonder I need regular doses of Mylanta. And there’s nothing I won’t do to get it – rob, murder, even pick up a bottle at the drugstore.”

To the relief of the distraught boomers, who have a seemingly irrepressible urge to enjoy life even into their later decades, the club is scheduled to reopen tonight.

However, upon arrival the trendy crowd will notice that a new sign has been placed above the entrance, notifying them that “The Possession Of Antacid On These Premises Is Strictly Forbidden.”

Cancun All Inclusive Hotels

Cancun All Inclusive Hotels

In the early 1950s, Cancun was an underdeveloped and scarcely populated island, with just one coconut plantation and small Pre-Columbian ruins of the Maya civilization. The Government of Mexico took steps to develop it as a tourist resort on a loan from the International Development Bank. A causeway to link the two parts of Cancun, an international airport and a “model city for workers”, with housing, schools and healthcare facilities were constructed. The Government began its development programs in 1970 and accelerated them in the 1980s.

Today, the city, including the mainland and the island, is home to 500,000 residents, most of whom are from mainland Mexico, and a growing number from the rest of America and Europe.

Cancun has a wide range of tourist accommodation to suit everyone. There are about 140 hotels with 24,000 rooms and 380 restaurants. The hotel zone is very exclusive and multinational, with up-market restaurants, bars, and clubs that cater to the rich and famous. The hotel zone is expensive and depends on the all inclusive hotels to retain visitors in this area. This tendency has allowed prices to keep soaring, a common factor that affects all tourist resorts.

Due to their several advantages, all-inclusive hotels have become the norm in Cancun. One important plus point about most inclusive hotels is the package that they offer airfare, food and accommodation, all wrapped into one. An all-inclusive ticket can save a lot of money, as much as 0 per person on a single journey. Though all inclusive hotels are expensive, they make the stay comfortable. They offer very good accommodations and supply food, beverages and drinks 24 hours a day.

Some of the all inclusive hotels in Cancun include Ambiance Villas and Club, Aquamarina Beach Hotel, Barcelo Tucancun, Club Carrousel Cancun and Crown Paradise Club Cancun. Most of the all inclusive hotels are situated at the beach and cost from approximately 0 per night. All inclusive hotels enable the visitor to enjoy his visit with comfort.

Two Way Radio – Helping Businesses In The Fight Against Crime

Two Way Radio – Helping Businesses In The Fight Against Crime

Criminal damage, anti social behaviour orders (or ASBO’s) and drunken louts are just some of things you might witness on a night out in many Towns and Cities in the UK, across Europe and indeed Worldwide. So faced with this, what are pub and club owners doing in the fight against crime?

Do you think the so called good old days ever existed or do you think it’s just getting older (and perhaps wiser) that clouds our judgement?

It’s just that going out for a few drinks and few laughs seemed to be what used to happen. Visit places nowadays though and there’s a chance a few drinks and few laughs might be followed by abuse, being made to feel threatened and in some cases physical violence.

Drunkenness, drinking in the street, shouting abuse at passes by, theft, drug taking, vandalism and assaults as just some of the issues facing owners of pubs, clubs and other licensed trade premises.

But maybe things have always been like this and it’s just now the media that brings it to our attention. And whether this new epidemic of late night fights and bottle throwing is new or not isn’t really the issue.

The issue instead is what is being done by owners of pubs and clubs and take away restaurants to make sure their premises are ones we all feel safe visiting?

The good news is that many are in fact doing a great deal to make your evening out an enjoyable experience.

Things such as:

Pub Watch

Pubs, clubs, local CCTV providers and the police are all working together to make sure our night time venues are safer places. With the use of CCTV, Two Way Radios and trained door staff potential trouble makers can be monitored and dealt with accordingly.

With now over 4.2 million CCTV cameras in the UK alone (or 1 camera for every 14 people) CCTV is used by pub and club owners to not only view trouble happening but to also keep an eye on potential trouble makers.

Two Way Radio

The success of schemes like Pub Watch comes down to all parties (pubs, clubs, door staff and the Police) keeping in touch so they can identify and deal with potential problems.

2 Way Radio gives pubs an affordable solution to this problem as after paying for the handset there is no rental or call charges. Just a quick and easy way to stay in touch and prevent incidents.

Many different types of Two Way Radio are readily available that can help businesses in their fight against crime. Popular models like the ICOM F25SR, Motorola Two Way Radios and Kenwood 2 Way Radios can all be used to stay in touch and make sure incidents are kepy to a minimum.

Toronto Contractors Fraud Protection

Toronto Contractors Fraud Protection

Taking the guesswork out of hiring a contractor has proven a successful formula for Homeservice Club of Canada. Its members don’t have to cross their fingers when hiring a contractor; instead they rely on the Club’s unique quote system to get the job done on time and on budget with guaranteed standards of workmanship.
For homeowners, the system not only guarantees the work, it ends the stress of dealing with contractors. “I can’t believe how much Homeservice Club has helped me,” says member Ann Buffer of Toronto. “I’ve had a roof leak for a few years now, and every time I called a contractor they did minimal amount of work, and were paid handsomely. A few weeks later my roof once again begins leaking. I contacted Homeservice Club, became a member and immediately within the same day they assigned me a contractor who had a very credible track record. My roof was fixed quickly, and I was happy with the job. Their system guaranteed I would not be screwed over as I had in the past.”
For contractors, the system ensures they are kept working at capacity with less time spent on sales and administrative tasks. It frees them to spend more time doing the work they do best.
The Club’s unique “quote” system and its Double Guarantee set it apart from simple contractor referral businesses. In-office service representatives take calls from members who pay a small yearly fee. Each representative specializes in different trades such as masonry, roofing, and electrical. When a member calls in to request a quote on a renovation or repair, the appropriate contractor is assigned to the job and will be have to complete the job. On larger jobs, the member is encouraged to get at least three quotes from Club professionals. The jobs are equally distributed amongst all contractors to keep each and every contractor satisfied and working at their full capacity. The representatives monitor the progress of each job and are in touch with the member to ensure the work is being done to their satisfaction. If the contractor can’t or won’t complete the job properly, another is dispatched to remedy the problem. And finally, both the individual contractor and the Club guarantee the work.

“We take the hassle out of home renovations,” explains Club president Richard Felton. “There’s the convenience of calling one number no matter what job you need done. And the peace of mind knowing that the person you are letting into your home has been prescreened and bonded by Homeservice Club™.”
But, says Felton, the most important aspect of his business is the “Double Guarantee” he offers homeowners. “You hear about renovation nightmares all the time – contractors taking the deposit

and skipping town, or not finishing the job. That’s what sets us apart in the home renovation business – we guarantee the job will be completed to the customers’ satisfaction,” Felton said. “We add our guarantee to that of the individual contractor. If the job is not done to your satisfaction, we’ll send someone else in to fix it – that’s a double guarantee of satisfaction for the member.”
Homeservice Club™ has been in the business of protecting homeowners since Harry Felton opened its doors in 1961 to protect homeowners against “shoddy workmanship and fly-by-night contractors”. Today, his son runs the family business, but the concept remains true to his father’s vision. For a small yearly membership fee, homeowners have access to a network of over 400 licensed, bonded and insured contractors in every trade imaginable. The contractors are all independent tradespeople who compete with each other for members’ business, keeping prices competitive.
Club members also have access to an extensive shopping network offering discounts on everything from cars to travel, security systems to real estate, and insurance to appliances.
The Homeservice Club model is a win-win deal for both the homeowner and the contractor, says Felton. “We take the hassle out of hiring a contractor for our members and we take the hassle out of running a business for our contractors – everyone wins,” he added.

Benidorm Spain Rich In Relaxation And Nightlife

Benidorm Spain Rich In Relaxation And Nightlife

Your next vacation to Europe must include holidays in Benidorm Spain. Benidorm is perfectly situated along the Costa Blana, just north of the Alicante Airport and a short distance south of Altea. It is also within driving distance of other Costa Blanca attractions a little further north in Calpe, Javea, and Denia. The largest neighbouring city is of course Alicante to the south that contains all a big city has to offer. The best however, can also be found right in Benidorm with its high rise buildings giving way to generous beaches and a temperate climate year round.

Attractions in Benidorm Spain

Benidorm Spain is well known in the region for its night life. It has more than 30 discos and literally hundreds of restaurants just steps for the beaches. So after a day in the sun, you can dance and eat the night away and then sleep to your heart’s content on the warm white sand beaches the next day. Does a vacation get any better than that?

If you like a blend of different activities on your holidays, then Benidorm can also offer many culturally enriching outings.

The old city centre of Benidorm referred to as Casco Antiguo, has historically significant buildings along the San Lorenzo, San Vicente and Santa Fez streets.

Golf courses dot the Alicante region just a short distance from Benidorm. There is the Bonalba Golf Club in Mutxamel, Alicante Golf Club in San Juan beach, and the Bosque Golf and Country Club in Chiva. This is just a very short list. There are actually more than a dozen nearby.

Belidorm is also central to various theme parks, perfect for families. The three largest and most popular are the Terra Mitica, Mundomar and Aqualalndia (water park).

Beach Holidays in Benidorm Spain

The beach in Benidrom is always the perfect vacation spot. The mountains surrounding the area control winds and temperatures all year long, so it’s always the perfect beach day, winter or summer. The two main beaches in Benidorm are the Playa de Poniente and the Play de Levante. They offer miles of sun and sand. The quieter and more serene of the two is the Levante since the traffic to get to these beaches can be heavy.

Getting There

The entry point to your holiday in Benidorm Spain is most likely going to be the Alicante Airport. This is the largest and closest major airport. From there you can travel to your hotel by car or bus. There are at least 20 different car rental agencies in the area, making it easy to hire one for your vacation. You will probably need to take a taxi or bus from the airport to the car rental. From there you will have the freedom and flexibility to take your car all along the Costa Blanca to enjoy golf, other beaches, and the historical sites of Spain.

The train can be an adventure and convenient way to travel the coast. You will enjoy breathtaking views and get where you need to go without having to drive it yourself. This is great if you want to walk around different cities without having to worry about parking or how to get there. There is a train from Benidorm to Denia and back that provides reliable transportation between two of the Alicante region’s most popular destinations.

Finally, at the end of a busy (or not so busy) day, you can relax at one of the cities 5-star hotels. The prices range from 0-0 per night and most are located about 8 miles outside the city centre to the west. Accommodations include swimming pools and continental breakfasts, and if you really must, high speed Internet connections.

Costa Rica: Music, Dance and Nightlife

Costa Rica: Music, Dance and Nightlife

Music in Costa Rica is music to dance to. From Salsa to Chamber music there is something for everyone. Live bands play at different clubs all over the country. Salsa, Jazz, Rock, Tango, Tex-Mex, and Calypso are all on the venue at different nightspots in Costa Rica.

If you are staying in and around San Jose the best nightlife is found at El Pueblo in Escazu. Here you can find restaurants, nightclubs and shops. Club Twister is one club that is very popular playing contemporary and Latin music. Another is El Tobagan and while they are open only on the weekend they are always packed.

Somewhere in El Pueblo the Tango Bar is located. It has a couple of older gals that serve drinks and perform sentimental ballads. If you are lucky an Argentine visitor will be able to translate the lyrics. Occasionally you will have the treat of seeing a good tango performed.

Costa Ricans love to dance and they are so good that it is scary. Not too much cha cha, but there is plenty of cumbia, merengue, lambada, and salsa. If you get a chance before you go to Costa Rica try to get in some salsa lessons. It is the most fun you can have and it sure makes you know that you are alive. There is dancing at night in any number of clubs all over Costa Rica but most of the better hotels have music at night.

If you speak a small amount of Spanish and you are looking for local happenings then you can try to read the local papers the Tico Time and La Nacíon. These should help you find local movie times and info on concerts and festivals.

Every year in February and March there is the Monteverde Art Festival, which has local musicians and visiting guest musicians. The venues for the music change from year to year depending on what festival planners have in mind so check the local newspaper or simply ask around. The local Ticos will be more than happy to give you any info they have on where the next performance is.

Costa Rica is predominantly Catholic so most of their holidays follow the usual Catholic holidays such as Christmas and Easter but one holiday that stands out is the celebration of the Black Christ Esquipulas. This festival originates in Guatemala but is celebrated all over Costa Rica. There is large population of Guatemalan immigrants so this may have something to do with the celebration.

The Teatro National was built over a hundred years ago an in that time Costa Ricans have developed there own national theater company. Additionally Costa Rica has their own Symphony and Ticos love classical music almost as much as Salsa.

For those of you that like a different kind of nightlife there are also a few nature and wildlife tours. In the Mountverde Cloud Forest there are night tours that show you the beauty of wildlife that only shows itself at night.

The Rat Pack Tickets – See The "cool Cats" Of The Mid-20th Century Live

The Rat Pack Tickets – See The "cool Cats" Of The Mid-20th Century Live

The Rat Pack tickets are not a chance to attend a party, to be part of the “A” list social scene or to spend time with entertainment, sports and political giants of the time who all wanted to be seen with this legendary informal social club. Rather, The Rat Pack tickets are a chance to see how this group of big-time entertainers interacted during a typical day and night, and a look at the story will help explain why interest in these figures and this club continues to this day.

The Group

“The Rat Pack” was a group of friends who met and grew close as contemporaries in the entertainment industry, and the “members” included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. The group was legendary not only for their individual performing talents, as each of them enjoyed incredible success as singers, actors and general entertainers, but it was also famous for its lifestyle.

The Rat Pack was the “in” crowd during the 1950’s and 1960’s in Hollywood, Las Vegas and Palm Springs, and their partying and overall celebratory nature was well-documented in several ways, including the tabloids, television, film and even on-stage. Their stories and legends are still told 40-50 years later.

The Story

The story itself is told with a cast of talented actors and the accompaniment of a 15-piece orchestra, and the setting is Las Vegas, one of the central hot-spots for the Rat Pack at the time. The specific location of the story is The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, which was also one of the premier hot-spots in the desert city at the time.

The plot centers on a “typical” concert night at The Sands, and Martin, Sinatra and Davis all play prominent roles in bringing yet another spell-binding performance to its audience. Everything that was Las Vegas and The Rat Pack at the time is present in this story – great music, playful banter, partying, conflict, controversy, and of course, curvy and sexy showgirls, all of which were a prominent part of every production this group ever put together, with astounding results and success.

If you were a fan of popular music during this time, or you were familiar with any of the Rat Pack’s members, then you need to see this play. The Rat Pack tickets will deliver a night of multi-faceted entertainment, and you’ll never regret the chance to get to know this group and this scene up-close and personal.

Circa Nightclub Toronto

Circa Nightclub Toronto

October 4th, 2007 – The Toronto nightlife scene glows remarkably brighter now that legendary New York nightclub guru Peter Gatien has unveiled his highly anticipated project, CiRCA nightclub. Hailed as Gatien’s most extensive project ever, the 55,000 square foot CiRCA is unlike anything the world has ever seen, offering a multifaceted club with a unique blend of arts, fashion and entertainment.

Peter Gatien started his career in the 70’s spanning three decades known as the “King of Clubs” in New York City. His accomplishments include the opening of Limelight, Palladium, Tunnel and Club USA. Gatien’s current undertaking will encompass everything he’s learned over the years into one truly astounding project.

Located at 126 John St. in the heart of the Entertainment District, Gatien has overhauled the former Playdium / Lucid building into what promises to be one of the most sensory stimulating club experiences you’ve ever had. Building on the existing architecture of an open concept with overhanging balconies, Gatien has transformed the four floors into distinctly themed areas capable of accommodating 3,000 people.

Gatien has invested heavily into the .5 million club which will also serve as a giant interactive canvas. Local area and international artists are invited and encouraged to push the creativity envelope and showcase their work. Ongoing contributions will ensure a dynamic atmosphere that is frequently changing. All in all, this will add an exciting dimension to the club industry while beautifully highlighting the artistic and cultural diversity of Toronto.

Aside from the main dance floor which can accommodate 1,000 people, CiRCA will feature several other intimate and distinctly themed areas. The world’s first SKYY Cinema Lounge includes a state-of-the-art screening room with a bar, DJ booth and 16 foot screen presented by SKYY Vodka.

The Sensa Bar will further your experience with its sensitive surfaces that react to touch and movement. Highly responsive surfaces can be programmed to allow for an entertaining level of interaction, and two private booths put you in control allowing for changes in lighting and music.

The Ball Room caters to the distinguished clientele who prefer a more refined setting. The luxuriously appointed room will include its own bar and DJ booth to create the intimate feeling of being at a private social club.

Embrace your inner child in the Kidrobot Room. Founder of Kidrobot Paul Budnitz has designed a room allowing patrons to admire and purchase the exclusive products. Mystery books

Mystery books

I could spend hours in a book store. If I tell my husband that I’m going to Borders or Barnes and Noble, he sighs. He knows that he won’t see me for quite a while. Once I enter a bookstore, I head straight for the mystery books. I’m not picky about the mystery books that I do read – they can be a ghost story or a murder to solve. As long as the plot and story keeps me guessing and makes me not want to put it down at night, I’m into it. There are some authors in particular that I can say are my favorite but I’m always open to newcomers.

I joined a book club, Literary Guild, many years ago. Since I have long since fulfilled my commitment to them, I get all kinds of great deals on not only mystery books, but every genre. The club has my preferences of mystery books on file and because of that, I often get to preview books before they hit the shelves. I can also pre-order some mystery books in advance and have them shipped the moment they are released. I love that. To me, there is nothing better than curling up under the covers or on my recliner with a blanket and a brand new mystery book in my hand. Every once in a while, if the book is absolutely amazing, I have been known to stay up until the middle of the night to finish it. At first, it drove my husband crazy, but now he gets the bed to himself for a few hours and loves it.

My love of mystery books started in my youth. I loved the idea of trying to solve a puzzle and figure something out. My daughter has been reading for a year now and has started to enjoy mystery books of her own. I often sit down with her and let her read them to me, knowing that the mental stimulation of not only reading, but trying to figure things out is helping her grow and learn.

There are so many places that you can buy books, it is amazing. There are tons of online sites now that you can purchase books from. You can walk into the mall and find them in lots of stores other than book stores. You can join a book club, such as the Literary Guild, and have them delivered right to your front door. Reading is one of the best and most wonderful things you can do for yourself and encourage your children to do. It doesn’t just have to be mystery books.

The Hill Club Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka

The Hill Club Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka

If you have a vacation in Sri Lanka, then a trip to Nuwara Eliya which is where the British used to retreat to, for coolness in the summer heat a century ago is essential, , to stay at The Hill Club, because I guarantee you won’t find another place like it anywhere in the world.

Nuwara Eliya is over 5000 feet above sea level and visiting there is like going back in time, in fact just getting there is an adventure in itself.

We hired a vehicle, plus driver from our beach side hotel, and booked a night in Kandy, and a night in Nuwara Eliya, to visit my uncle’s old stomping grounds when he was a tea planter in what was then Ceylon.

I’m not going to write about the drive, which was quite amazing, but rather about the hotels we stayed in.

In Kandy we stayed in the Queen’s Hotel, situated on a very English corner, and looking very much like an English town hotel.

Inside, the hall and reception area were wood panelled, with an old fashioned sliding grill lift, you could have been in Edwardian England. Our room looked as if the last visitor was Queen Victoria, and my wife was very concerned abot bed bugs. Having said that although the room was dowdy, it was clean, but the ceiling fan sounded like a spitfire going down the runway!

The hotel had a garden with a swimming pool, mostly frequented by ‘gap year’ public school like students, who could get a cheap shower, and good food at very good prices.

Dinner was served in an almost deserted restaurant, by a black tie waiter, and we worked out my curry cost a little over £1 stg!!

In fact the meal was superb, drinks cheap, and our total bill for two rooms, plus dinner, drinks, and drinks around the pool, came to a massive £75!!

The road to Nuwara Eliya was not long in miles, but it took hours, due to the steep climb, and the narrowness of the road, plus the number of vehicles and buses we encountered.

The views of the tea plantations and the hills were amazing, and a trip round a tea plantation factory well worth while

Shortly before arriving in Nuwara Eliya we were amazed to see road side shacks selling such vegetables as leeks, carrots, cauliflowers, all memories of when the traffic was mainly English residents.

We went to Nuwara Eliya for two reasons, the main one of which was to stay at The Hill Club, still a private club, but also an hotel, although you had to join as a temporary member to use it.!!

Seeing it for the first time it looked like a Lake District Hotel in the 1930’s and inside just confirmed that.

Dinner was a jacket and tie affair[supplied if you had left yours behind!!], with a classic English menu with fish course included, all served by white gloved waiters.

Our room was as you would expect old fashioned, with hot water bottles in our beds.

As a hill town Nuwara Eliya from a distance looks totally English, including the ‘Gardens’ with bandstand, it was for a short moment a bit strange seeing no white faces.

The golf club is totally home counties 1930’s, and the course immaculate. If the sudden lack of English names on the honours board after 1973 was dramatic, it brought home the end of Empire.

I was able to see the name of my uncle on the immaculately kept honours board, plus that of a university friend, plus well cared for old photographs.

Nuwara Eliya is a ‘must do’ if you take a vacation in Sri Lanka.

San Francisco is not just Child’s Play

San Francisco is not just Child’s Play

Visiting San Francisco, California is great to do with a family; it is even better to do as an adult without children along. Frisco has a thriving nightlife and plenty of entertainment that simply isn’t meant for children. From the slightly off color to the seriously bawdy, San Francisco nightlife has entertainment of almost every flavor. Of course there is still plenty to do during the daylight hours too.

If you’re looking for a taste of nightlife that is ‘belly busting’ funny, there’s Comedy on the Square that offers comedic variety shows. You can also check out Lila Theatre for some of the best long-form improvisation. If you need a good laugh these are great places to start. 50 Mason Lounge is also a great place to go to get in on the laughs. The problem with San Francisco is that there are so many great comedy clubs they can’t all be listed in one place. My suggestion is that you ask around for suggestions and find out who’s playing. You never know when someone you recognize might be popping in for the evening.

In addition to the great comedy clubs there is the general ‘gentleman’s’ nightlife alive and well in this fair city. I would be remiss if I failed to mention some of the more unique adult entertainment that San Francisco has to offer. In addition to the typical gentlemen’s clubs such as Broadway Showgirls Cabaret, which boasts more luxurious surroundings than other clubs, there is Crazy Horse, Inc., which has totally nude live shows, The Gold Club, and Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. There is one club that goes above and beyond what any of these clubs offer though and is worth checking out with a date if you and your partner are so inclined. This club is called Power Exchange and while there are a few places like this around the country, they are extremely rare. If you aren’t easily offended and are the least bit curious, I would recommend checking it out.

San Francisco is swimming with active and awesome nightclubs and as such it is quite difficult to single one out as superior to any other. I recommend finding a nightclub that is within walking distance of your hotel. This diminishes the odds of your driving while intoxicated. As always it is important to enjoy responsibly.

If you want to make the most out of your trip to San Francisco, be sure to remember that while there is plenty to do at night, you want to be awake and aware for at least part of the day so don’t have too much fun at night. If you are very brave and adventurous and looking for more adult only entertainment you can try one of the nude beaches in the area. While these beaches are not for everyone and they aren’t exactly nighttime activities, they do offer some adult only entertainment that is worth considering if it floats your boat.

You can also rent sailboat and powerboat cruises in the bay, if you are with a loved one, try one of the sunset cruises. These cruises are romantic time away from the crowds of the city. Even if these times aren’t exclusively for adults, if you close your eyes and imagine, you can whittle the world down to just the two of you.

Whatever your pleasure in this great city, I hope you have found some ideas for great fun and entertainment that will get your trip off to a great start. Remember to have fun and enjoy the time you spend visiting San Francisco, California whether that time be day or night. If none of the things I’ve mentioned above have struck your fancy there are always more cultural undertakings such as museums, guided tours, or trips to Alcatraz. Just remember the purpose of a vacation is fun, if you aren’t having fun where you are, go somewhere else!

Led Candles Are On-Off Candles?

Led Candles Are On-Off Candles?

You can enjoy the aura of candlelight without fire, heat, gel or wax, purchasing the new, safe, beautiful led candles, sitting in frosted glass containers, flicking like real wax or gel candles. As led candles are portable, you can use them anywhere in your house, without any fear. Led candles are reliable outdoor too, they resist water, snow or wind. Led candles are rechargeable, can work without batteries and last approximately 12 hours per charge.

Dissipate the blackness of the night with led candles

Led candles don’t have a flame; you can blow on or out with a master on – off switch, you can use them safely in the rooms where it is too dangerous to use natural candles, to have open flame. Some models with batteries can last 350 hours on a single set of batteries. Nothing better than led candles to create a romantic atmosphere, in safe and secure conditions; no flame to blow out in the wind, no carcinogens to worry about, no burning or fire hazard, no smoke, and no wax. You can use them as safe portable night light, as window display or restaurant, bar or club candle table light.

Led candles are also recommended for night party lights around pools, decks or garden. There are also some models with natural fragrances. Because they are batteries operated, led candles can be arranged in children’s room or in colleges. It is also possible to change the color of the candle, to match your décor, simple pressing a button.

The fragrant candles can be used as nightlight, emergency lighting or ambient lighting in bars or restaurants. You will never worry again about the open flame and fire danger. There are candles made in wax, realistic with delightful scents and flickering as real candles. Wall sconce and led candles, what a beautiful combination! They make an awesome effect, a modern accent in any bar or restaurant, dinning room or hall. The newest generation of candles uses the latest SMD technology for changing colors, able to create an awesome ambience anywhere, at home, in a restaurant, pub or club.

Light up your life

Dispel the shadows and darkness of the night with led candles, safe and spectacular. Led candles will burn safely and bright in any room. You can rest without the fear of open fire. Led candles are great any time, they don’t make a mess like wax candles.

Never forget that led candles are recommended for any occasion; pillar candles flameless, realistic and safe can be easily installed among evergreen boughs, without fear of starting a dangerous fire.

The Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside Resort and Port Orleans French Quarter are the moderate Walt Disney World Resorts.

Disney World’s so called value resorts offer value for money as being very affordable. These resort accommodations are built for families on smaller budgets but are also often used by tour companies for tourists traveling together in groups. Although the amenities can be considered as basic, all budget value resorts have themed swimming pools and inexpensive food courts. Accommodation at Disney value budget resorts can go as low as per night. Imagine that!

These resorts are like service apartments where guests are provided with extra facilities and amenities such as a kitchen, multiple bedrooms and even valet parking thrown in. Prices can range from about 0 per night to more than ,000 per night during peak holiday season. If you have money to burn, then you may wish to stay at The Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa or The Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

So there will be shortage of accommodation to cater to your taste and budget when you visit Disney World.

Simple Steps To Starting A Coupon Club!

Simple Steps To Starting A Coupon Club!

If someone were to hand you a ten dollar bill, would you tell them that you didn’t want it? Of course not! Yet Americans throw away free money everyday when they choose not to use coupons. Last year alone, manufacturers across America offered more than two hundred and fifty billion dollars in coupon savings and yet American shoppers saved only billion dollars in that same time period, by using coupons. That is two hundred and forty-seven billion dollars in savings going to waste! If you are serious about wanting to save money using coupons, you can’t just rely on the Sunday paper to supply you with the coupons you need. You have to get creative in finding coupons that will help you to lower your bills.

1. Gather a group of 12 friends (including you) and give them at least a months warning so that they can begin rounding up their coupons. Make sure to invite people that represent a wide variety of shopping needs, so that you will have lots of different types of coupons to choose from. Try not to invite 11 people that all have newborn babies or a pet, or no one will want to trade diaper and cat treat coupons.

2. Pick a time that is convenient for everyone (lunch or dinner) and send out reminder invites that include the location one week before your club meeting. You can also send out e-mail reminders the night before the club meets. Just to get things started, you can include a few online coupon codes in your e-mail. At the first meeting have everyone sign up to host one meeting over the next year. That means they will be in charge of the reminder, invitation, food, and door prizes, as well as hosting the event at their house. Because you have 12 members, each one will only have to host one time a year.

3. Plan your menu. You could even do a pot-luck or have a fun theme like a luau. Make a theme night in which everyone brings a dish that was made using only products that were purchased with coupons. Give a prize for the dish that represents the most money in coupon savings. Don’t forget to make it a splurge night and serve a really gooey, calorie laden dessert.

4. Get some door prizes together. You can plan games to give these away or just have a drawing. Put a dollar sign on one of the napkins and give a prize to the member who gets that particular napkin. Give a prize to the person that brings the coupon for the largest amount of money off an item. Good door prizes are coupon wallets, gift certificates, scissors, and of course coupons!

5. Plan out how you are going to swap coupons. You could play games where each member starts with five coupons and each time she is caught saying a certain agreed upon word by another member, she has to give one of her coupons to that member. You could have each member put 25 coupons in an envelope and then place them on a table and take turns picking an envelope. Or you could just have a coupon free for all where members simply swap coupons without the benefit of organization.

The most important thing to remember when planning a coupon club is to use your imagination and have lots of fun.

The Benefits Of A Golf Club

The Benefits Of A Golf Club

If you are a busy professional man that has any opportunity at all to be a part of a golf club, then I’d suggest you join it at all costs. I never was an advocate of golf clubs until I got married and realized just how high a level of stress my poor husband dealt with every day at work. Quite frankly, I never knew why men were always talking about their love for golfing and their need to get out and hit a bucket of balls before this.

It took me a few months to realize how serious my husband was about joining a golf club. We both knew that we didn’t have the finances to make it happen, but it only took me a little while of seeing how stressed and unhappy my husband was after work before I started making sacrifices in other areas so that he could join a golf club.

Oh my goodness, what a difference being a part of a golf club has made for my husband and hence to our entire family. He looks forward to his Wednesday night golf matches more than anything. His golf club membership has given him an excuse and an obligation to do things for himself simply because he enjoys them. I encourage all of my friends to let their husbands get memberships at golf clubs. I promise them that they will see a difference at home when they are allowing their husbands to spend an evening or two a week at a local golf club.

Now, obviously a man who is wanting to spend everyday golfing is a different story. That man needs to refocus his priorities badly and take a good look at his relationships. But an overstressed and underappreciated husband, father and worker would benefit greatly from a golf club membership.

Don’t get worried, women, that you have to spend an outrageous amount of money for a golf club membership for your husband. You don’t. There are package deals that are becoming more reasonable all the time for golf club memberships. So take your time and look around to get the best deal. Talk to other men that go to a golf club and get their opinions.

Surprise your husband with a membership to a golf club and I guarentee you will be his favorite person in the world. You will see tremendous changes at home as you allow him to get out and enjoy some time and space to himself.

Why Have Karaoke Nights In Pubs And Clubs Become So Popular – And Where To Find Them?

Why Have Karaoke Nights In Pubs And Clubs Become So Popular – And Where To Find Them?

There was once a time when you needed to be a musician to be able to perform in public, but with the advent of easily obtainable music backing tracks, and the need of pubs and clubs to attract new patrons, all this has changed.

And seeing ordinary people thrust into the limelight via TV shows has given us all the idea that our voices, once upon a time confined to the bathroom, is now something we should be parading in public.

It’s not as if the desire to sing in public is a new thing – a few beers have always unloosened the vocal chords, even when the only option was singing along around the pub piano.

No longer is karaoke known as the opportunity where those who absolutely, positively cannot sing a note go to prove it – today’s karaoke nights are populated by some very talented singers. Lured by singing to high-quality backing tracks, karaoke has become a respected arena for even some high profile pop stars.

But if you’re a ‘karaoke virgin’, don’t be alarmed – different venues cater for different levels of singing talent, and the spirit of karaoke means that no singer genuinely trying their best is ever given less than appreciative applause.

Most karaoke gigs are held in pubs and clubs, but are often not advertised. Unless you happen to be there on the night, chances are you’ll never know that the karaoke exists – and some karaoke nights are held only once or twice a month.

Whilst major cities will have karaoke running somewhere every night of the week, in the lesser cities karaoke may be found only late in the week and at weekends; and most major towns will have karaoke somewhere on a Friday and Saturday night.

Rural towns will often have karaoke at the weekends in the RSL or sporting club, and taxi drivers are another good source of karaoke venue information.

But the very best place to find your karaoke is on websites, and Australia’s most up-to-date list is on – with more than 800 venues listed nationwide.

It’s not just finding a karaoke night that matters, it’s now important to find the right type of night.

Are you a first timer looking for some free entertainment and possibly a chance to get up on stage and sing? Or are you an experienced singer who wants a filled auditorium of people to impress? Every pub and club is different, and selecting one that suits you is the key to really enjoying your night.

With the Internet being the first choice of many seeking information, websites now hold the feedback of singers who have already visited venues and are keen to share their knowledge.

One result of this is the ‘ National Top 10 Karaoke Venues chart’ which is taken as a benchmark of a venue’s karaoke quality. is also a sponsor of the Australian heats of the Karaoke World Championships 2007 – Australia placed 5th in 2005 but scored a victory in the men’s titles in 2006 by coming first.

And whilst there’s now even online karaoke where you can upload your singing performance to websites for others to hear and rate, nothing beats the friendship and entertainment of a live karaoke night in a pub or club.

Jazz Clubs

Jazz Clubs

Jazz music is appreciated worldwide. If you are ever traveling and are new to some countries, here are where some of the best jazz clubs are located so that every place you go will be just like home.

Canadian Jazz Clubs

In Westminster, you can go to the Java Jazz Café & Bistro. Live jazz is played served with Filipino cooking, with dishes like kare-kare, milkfish and bangus. Every night there are different artists playing. Times are from Tuesday-Thursday from 12p.m. to 2:30p.m. and 5:30 to 12:00a.m. Friday it’s to 1:00a.m., Saturday 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday 5:30 p.m. to midnight. If you want to attend jam sessions, they are each Saturday 3p.m. to 6p.m.

If you are ever in Victoria, go to the Hermann’s Jazz Club on 753 View Street. This club has been around for 25 years. You can enjoy good food and international jazz music from the hottest musicians around.

In Vancouver, you can go to Capones Restaurant & Live Jazz Club. Jazz music is played there every night of the week. The food is excellent food and wine. Some of the dishes are pizzas, pastas, tapas and there are also some signature entrees. The musicians that play here are literally chosen to play there from the area and offer great west coast jazz music and blues. You have to call and book in advance to get a table here.

Cuban Jazz Clubs

If you are heading to Havana, be sure to stop at La Zorra Y La Cueva Jazz Club. Open every day, you can eat, drink, dance and enjoy the best jazz music as only the best of musicians play here. Dress tropical for this club.

Chinese Jazz Clubs

In Bejing, you can go to The Big Easy. Modern jazz music and blues is played there. Ted’s Café plays traditional jazz on Saturday nights. In Shanghai you can go to the CJW. The CJW is the Cigar Jazz Wine House. It is on the highest floor of the fifty-story Bund Centre. The atmosphere is very modern, eccentric with lava lamps, transparent beaded curtains. The food is traditional western and Chinese fusion.

Israeli Jazz Clubs

In Binyamina, you can go to the milestone. The Milestone is set in a beautiful park inside a Roman fortress. The times are from weekends Thursday to Saturday. The jazz music is played by the best Israeli jazz musicians. Gourmet food is served, and there is also an amphitheatre. If you are in Haifa, go to the Hottentot. Performances are just about every single day. The atmosphere is laid-back, there’s good food, drinks and a gallery.

French Jazz Clubs

I had to save the best clubs for last. French jazz clubs. The French are serious when it comes to jazz music. All kinds of jazz music is played from standard to amateur. There are many, many jazz clubs here. Quite a few American jazz musicians chose to live there permanently or temporarily and have enhanced their lives all around. Here is a couple of the best jazz clubs in France. In Paris 4th, there is Franc Pinot. Those that love swing and bebop music should come here. This club has natural acoustics, and is located in the heart of Paris. Times are from 7p.m. to 9p.m., but it depends on who is playing for the night. In the 15th, there is Jazz Club Lionel Hampton where the best bands and artists play contemporary jazz. If you want to enrich your spirit, go travel to other places to appreciate jazz music.

Art Deco Night-Life In South Beach Miami

Art Deco Night-Life In South Beach Miami

Your Miami Beach vacation would be incomplete without a visit to the glitzy Art Deco District at South Beach. SoBe, as it is called, has the largest stretch of surviving Art Deco architecture in the world. Built between 1923 and 1943, the hundreds of apartment blocks, hotels, restaurants, and shops are impressive by day, but at night the neon signs on Ocean Drive and surrounding streets signal a very active club and bar scene. With over 150 hotspots to choose from, a night on the town can become expensive unless you are very selective. And access to nightclubs is sometimes difficult for non-locals without connections, especially in the high season from mid-November to April.

Many SoBe clubs are celebrity hotspots, and the competition from the stars, the ultra chic, and the wannabes can make entry to the coolest places difficult. Bring plenty of money, too, since entry to the more popular nightspots will cost you anything up to . You’ll need to spend time, too, since entry to the top places often comes with a wait of several hours. One of the secrets to gaining admittance is to dress fit to kill, since entry is often declined if you fail the visual evaluation of the discerning door staff. But take your time, since most nightspots are open until 5 am, you can look around before you decide. Most tourists flock to Ocean Drive, but Lincoln Road and Washington Avenue are really the best places to go for interesting places that will lead to an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and gawking.

As well as nightclubs, the area offers great shopping, contemporary galleries with top art on show, cutting-edge theatre, a variety of music venues and an awesome selection of restaurants. The Jackie Gleeson Theater of the Performing Arts, in Washington Avenue, hosts the South Beach Comedy Festival in January, plus a full range of arts events – from ballet and Flamenco dance to theatre. The revitalized Lincoln Road Mall is great for clothing, books and souvenirs. Many shops and galleries trade into the night.

A night on the town

Plan your evening in advance. Regulars understand that club nightlife here doesn’t kick off until 11 pm. It is difficult to list the most popular clubs, because the dynamic and ever-changing nature of venues, means that clubs constantly change owner, decor, and even name. The average club is only open for about a season or less, but on Ocean Drive, bars like the Clevelander and the Deuce have remained popular for years. Another long-termer, Opium, is an Asian-themed club attracting an A-list crowd, where you can enjoy mixed music and a Friday night fashion show. But be aware that they have a tough door.

For an outrageous time, try B.E.D. , a sexy club that serves up entertainment and drinks on luxurious beds. Set in an Art Deco movie theater, Crobar has a huge dance room and a catwalk around the second floor perimeter for easy star spotting. Washington Avenue’s Mansion, a current hotspot, has three rooms playing hip hop, house, and progressive, and features a chic VIP area. The late-night venue, Prive, offers four bars and intimate alcoves lining the dance floor. Be sure to arrive early, at 11 pm, to avoid a prolonged wait for entry. Then there’s Rokbar, in Collins Avenue, where the DJ’s spin 80’s rock, classic rock, new age, funk and hip hop.

You’ll find plenty of accommodation options in South Beach, including budget hostels, apartments, resorts, and hotels of all classifications. But be sure to book well ahead and be aware that many places require 3- to 5-day stays. From May to November you can often save 60 per cent and more with special off-season rates.

Nightlife in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Nightlife in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Your day in Ocho Rios doesn’t have to end after a day of sightseeing followed by a satisfying, relaxing, authentic Jamaican meal in one of Ocho Rios’ many fine restaurants. In fact, whether if you love to party, or just hang out with other tourists and locals alike until the wee hours of the morning, your day could just be starting with the many exciting nightlife options you’ll find in Ocho Rios.

If you prefer to avoid the night club atmosphere, why not try a great alternative with an evening sunset cruise, right before, during, or after dinner (depending on when you eat). The views of Ocho Rios you’ll enjoy are simply spectacular, not to mention the dazzling effects of the sunset. This could be the setting of a perfect romantic evening if you are celebrating an anniversary or other event. There are several different sailboat companies offering sunset cruises so you shouldn’t find it difficult to locate one near your hotel.

Alternatively (or even afterwards!) you may want to head over to Little Pub Restaurant’s Sports Bar, one of the most popular hang-out spots of Ocho Rios, which is open quite late. Many tourists also like to check out Jamaic’N Me Crazy, found at the Renaissance Jamaica Grande, a night club that unfortunately (for some) has more tourists than locals, and seems more American than Jamaican; however, it does definitely have one of the best sound and lighting systems in Jamaica. You should note however that this is only open to guests of the Renaissance Jamaica Grande (unless you or your hotel know of another way to gain entry!).

If you’re looking for something a little different, try Club Amnesia, which is significantly closer to an authentic Jamaican night club experience. The music and atmosphere are quite unique, and you can dance or enjoy the shows until 4 in the morning if you’ve got the stamina. The bonus is you only have to pay a cover fee for live band nights, and it usually costs no more than USD.

Another favorite is Margaritaville, a large, high-energy bar, grill, and restaurant that keeps its energy going well into the night, complete with live entertainment, theme nights, and reggae disco-style dancing.

Having partied the night away, grab a few hours sleep in your hotel room before staggering down to the beach to catch a few rays and a couple of more hours sleep before you make plans for the rest of the day – and isn’t that the stuff good vacations are made of?
